In year two thousand eight Pakistan was one of the only six countries that accounted for more than half of the total maternal mortality in the world. Even today it has the lowest ranking in South Asia region after Afghanistan when it comes to improvement in this regard. Several prominent representatives from Pakistan's health field, non-governmental organizations as well as government are participating in the Women Deliver Conference on maternal health going on in DC. This report gives an overview of the maternal health condition in Pakistan as these experts see and know it. Following experts were interviewed for the package.
