'If' is a song written by American singer and song-writer David Gates in 1971. It was popularized by his band Bread and soon covered by other singers including Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Jack Jones, Telly Savalas and band Westlife. I thought that the lyrics were very beautiful (as well as quite weird), so I made up my mind to introduce you to this now almost forgotten song of the 1970s. The last frame is a still from the movie 'The Ninth Gate' (1999) featuring Johnny Depp and Lena Olin. I have put it therein so that my montage could have a logical end.
