Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL) is a cancer of the lymphatic system[i] which, according to Cancer Research UK, was responsible for over 4,000 deaths in the UK in 2008 alone.[ii] Despite the fact that more than 10,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with NHL every year,[ii] the disease has so far failed to become a public priority.
Whilst treatment options are increasing, the UK's five-year survival rate remains around 50% for NHL.[ii] When compared with other common cancers such as breast cancer which has five year survival rates of approximately 80%,[iii] the need for greater awareness and increased treatment options to improve outcomes for patients with the disease becomes apparent.
The good news is that on Wednesday 15th September a treatment that is already available for patients in the US, Germany and Switzerland will be launched in the UK offering a life-line to hundreds of patients with slow-growing NHL in the UK, for whom other licensed treatments have failed. What's more, Wednesday 15th September is World Lymphoma Awareness Day, so to help raise the profile of this devastating disease, our live web TV show will be answering your questions and offering advice and information about NHL. We will also be discussing the treatments that are now available for people living with this disease.
So, if your life has been touched by NHL, or you simply want to find out more about the signs and symptoms of the disease, log onto the show where Dr Rob Hicks, Dr Andy Davies and Sally Penrose will be offering their advice and providing answers to all of your questions.
Dr Rob Hicks, Dr Andy Davies and Sally Penrose join us live online to discuss Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

I was diagnosed with NHL (stage 4) when I was eight years old, I did chemo and luckily now - ten years later - I have been declared cured. All my best wishes and hopes go to people who are still facing this horrible illness.

@wermzor me too...did chemo 2x...they wanted to do a bone marrow transplant to which I said, no way...there doesn't seem to be anything good about taking out your bone marrow (which carries your immune fighting cells) and filling my body with high doses of chemo and thinking that's going to help...doesn't make sense..and the risks are not worth it.

I am dealing with NHL for the 3rd time, not doing chemo, it didn't work 2x before...am trying to find natural/homeopathic methods of treatment...also, not sure it is even NHL based on the so called "symptoms", only 2 of which I had....

@wjpferr i havent watched this video yet , but just reading your comment - chemotherapy infact did NOT work for me .. when they said there was a 80% chance it would work. i had to get a stemcell transplant .. which who knows what that did to my body.
