Found injured (he was being pecked by a magpie [who liked eating baby pigeons] & had lost his tail, as well as broken his leg) by Kat's sis who told me to take him home :) The yellow stuff you see on his wing is tumeric powder used to stop him from bleeding so heavily.
Named after our uncle in India (^^,)

  • I hope he grows up happy and healthy because of his loving caretakers! How is he now (I saw this video was posted 5 years ago)?

  • @homingpigeons9 Thanks and I hope he did too. He was sent to be looked after by the RSPCA who said they'd release him once he was better :)

  • Aww. I bet he's very thankful!

  • I'm not sure which one it is that wakes me up each day..I'll have listen out for tune differences and find out ,lol

  • collared doves (ring neck doves) make the same kinda noise with a different tune, lol they just go "cooCOOOcoo cooCOOOcoo,"

  • Thanks, I'll try to remember that :) I hear the coo-coo, coo sound in the mornings when one ofthem decides to coo sitting on the chimney lol

  • wood pigeons all look exactly the same, peachy colour breast, greenish head, with white neck markings (when they're adults) and they go "coo COO coo.. coocoo, LOL, i know this is a woodpigeon chik coz i've reared quite afew of them, :), you can just see the white wing markings on the edge of his wings, and the colour on his front, the adults look amazing :)

  • Cool, I keep forgetting which is which (feral and wood pigeons). He's probably a big pigeon granddad by now :D

  • this one is a wood pigeon chick:)

  • Contact the RSPCA, they should be able to help :)
