  • yeah... this is pretty incriminating... I live in Norcal and we can only freedive for Red Abs that are over 7" across the long part of the shell. Using an airhose to pull undersized abalone is poaching. The sale of wild caught abalone is also illegal.

  • Yea - that was an interesting situation. That video was shot about 5 years ago - about three years later a sheriff showed up at our door. Apparently the diver had been under investigation for awhile - and he did end up getting into some trouble I think, we were told that the video was one of the reasons he got caught - I am not sure of the details, but we still decided to keep the video online.

  • Those Abalone are not legal.

  • Hey have you ever tried or know any areas around coos bay to find abalone? I go down to cape arago a lot and always wondered if they were around that area
