Children who hear a familiar voice while sleeping are much more likely to awaken fast, compared to simply hearing a loud noise. The smoke alarm in this video plays back a recording of a parent instructing the child to get up, and the results are impressive.

  • wow.. i cannot believe this. that is very scary.

  • @happysack1 i agree with you. i mean common sense you would think the parents would.. unless the parents were in a deep sleep. you know? but i also guess this is just showing us how in case if there was a fire the children wouldnt be able to hear the alarm going on. its an iffy thought.

  • Im an electrician so my smoke alarms interconnect turns on all the lights in the house

  • just wondering... it's not like these things are found in stores, so what smoke detectors are these? they're everywhere in homes, and in my home... but not my grandma's... she has both types. system sensor i3's and some goddamn Kidde's. wich is weird considering she only lives 15 minutes away... lmao... just an 11 year old boy wondering...

  • All Parents should see this when having children. If you don't believe this test try it on your own. It is your families lives is it worth it? of course it is.

  • Granted, I'm 23...If I had this growing up, my mom would set it off just to annoy me.

  • @macrent2 I have a SpectrAlert andvance cuz my Grandma has a hearing problem

  • i wood wake upto any alrme and i am 13

in fact if you came to my home and started to talk to me wall i was a sleep

i wood be able to talk to you wall i was still asleep

  • Weird. I got woken up by a smoke alarm chirping when I was 6 but it took awhile for me to wake up. But I was a much heavier sleeper back them. I probably would've woken up after about 45 seconds. Now smoke alarms wake me up for sure. That's probaly because I have acute hearing.

  • Deaf people have vibrating pillows and or beds connected to the fire alarm system. They also have vibrating things to let them know other things such as if the telephone is ringing or if the oven is beeping. This is just what I've heard.
