Me doing one of Paul McCartney's greatest melodic bass lines ever.

(It's a Hoefner Icon bass, with Pyramid flatwound strings, Yorkville combo amp miked with a Shure Beta 52A, and an old 3630 compressor to get that 'pop' sound with the pick strike).

It's the cheaper Icon model, but with Pyramid flatwound strings. It must be the strings that give it that tone, because with the originals it sounds a lot different (thinner and crappier, I think).
