TEDxBlackRockCity - Chris Paine

Chris Paine is the co-writer and director of Revenge of the Electric Car (2011). His prior work includes the feature documentary Who Killed the Electric Car? (2006) released by Sony to become one of the most successful documentaries of recent times. Chris has appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Nightline, ABC World News Tonight, Democracy Now, and Science Friday on NPR. He's spoken nationally at venues including Brown, Stanford, Princeton, and the Matthew Shepard Symposium on Social Justice. His film projects as executive producer include Mark Neale's "Charge!", "Faster!" and "No Maps for These Territories." Chris was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from Colgate University in New York. In the wake of the BP disaster in 2010, he co-founded the counter-spin site, counterspill.com. Chris supports the work of the Rainforest Action Network, Impro Theater, the Black Rock Arts Foundation, and everyone helping to reduce the use of gasoline.
