Excellent solid-state practice amp. Has tremolo and reverb, and a boost button. Seemingly designed as an AC15 emulation, it has the same layout as an AC15 (except the boost button). It has nice chiming treble response and in my opinion, shines when overdriving. Please excuse me I dont often speak on my vids so I repeated myself a few times, etc. Nervousness I guess.
specs:
15 watts solid-state
8 inch vox bulldog speaker
Tremolo
reverb
Cost: 145-160 dollars new about 110 dollars used on ebay
demoed with a Xavier XV-820 Telecaster
no pedals used; plugged straight into amp.

  • Really nice job on the Pathfinder demo. I can't think of anything you didn't cover. I want to get anyone's opinion comparing a Pathfinder to a Vox Valvetronix (same size) set on the VOX AC 15 or 30 setting. Which one would you rather have and why? Thanks

  • @jimdep1 Thanks for the kind words! I did this review to help bring to light how sweet this amp is. I have never been so satisfied with an amp before-and I have had many tube and SS amps in my life. I now have 2 running in stereo and love my tone.

  • Walmart is currently selling the Vox Pathfinder 15R online for $119

  • @AndyBoy63 yep, I've got two running in stereo!

  • WHEN YOU WERE HERE BEFORE!

  • just bought one, and it sounds amazing! true vintage-like behavior and setup. the tremolo is amazing, and I can live without a reverb depth control. best amp-on-a-budget ever!

  • I have one. Excellent practice amp. Bought it used for 65 bucks even better.

  • Have to echo everyone else great practical review, my favorite practice amp, running 2 in stereo has to sound sweet !

  • @AndyBoy63 sorry but you are wrong-the speaker in this amp is not clipping. This amp has a stompbox style overdrive circuit in it that is emulating a tube amp's breakup. In addition, the boost button slams the front end causing even more breakup. It does this at very low volumes and is certainly not the result of speaker distortion/overload.

  • @AndreaDeRegis you are welcome!

  • voxy ac15ish^^

  • @blackShelterDog you are welcome!

  • GREAT review thanks a lot!

  • great demo, I own one and I love it! and it´s been a good choice to bring some vampire weekend in! ;-)

  • @scorpguitar79 Hi

What do you think, what is better liverpool tech 21 or vox pathfinder 15r?

  • @XxLarsiixX could be either the pickups on your guitar are problematic or your guitar cord-try a different cord first.

  • When I play my electric guitar, the sound sometimes disappear, or the volume goes down by it self. What is that ? Are my settings wrong? Please, I am a noob at this.

  • Great review!! I'm looking for a practice amp, and I think this is a contender.

  • @scorpguitar79 thanks! probably be buying one soon

  • @turnstogold45 yes it works great with pedals

  • does it work good with pedals?

  • @ryskaposten yes you are correct and that is about what I paid for mine! Thanks for watching!
