Part of the EU MUSIC research project (http://ist-music.berlios.de/site/pilots.html#prm), Toronto's Ryerson University and Appear Networks in Stockholm have developed a Self-Adaptive Context-Aware Mobile application to help Paris Metro passengers during the course of their travel. The software adapts the application based on many context information such as Location, Passenger's profile, Time of Day and Connection Bandwidth. Public transit authorities can subscribe to a passenger's location if the passenger needs help. The passenger can also share this information with family members.
The application is now available and will go live in Paris in June 2010.
