Thank you for this comment. We certainly do not agree. Before making this video we did an very detailed research. Further reading: The bluefin bonanza by Wietse Van der Werf (you can download a free pdf on our website). Read, study and get involved instead of telling crap. Peace!

You (or somebody else) could use the European citizens' initiative to gather signatures and bring this up with the European Commission. I have no expertise in setting up a petition like that (especially since it has to span so many countries) but I'd gladly sign it if one was brought to my attention.

Interesting idea. But we need to see if we can handle such a big campaign, and we don't have much time left. But thanks for letting us know!

i take issue only with one of the final statements, i.e. 'chances are the last bluefin tuna will die in 2012'. if taken at face value, it is already far too late. on what basis was this statement made ??

Check 'The Bluefin Bonanza', by Wietse van der Werf. We give you a link at his document on our website, under section 'The Bluefin Tuna'.
Also just search 'bluefin 2012' in Google and you get some websites that gives you references to conlusions of some scientists.

I've come to the conclusion that living sustainably as an individual will not be enough to save the planet. We have to address all the crap left by those before us.
I've learned that changing the mind of an adult is a lost cause, unless they are willing to be educated and accept change.
Educating children is the best was to effect change and they are the beneficiaries of the world we are creating.

I think the comment was made about mediterranean blue fin, but they worded it like that to get a more dramatic affect.

I think that comment was meant for the Mediterranean, but they worded it so it had a more emotional affect.

except the climate you know the currents that keep the earths temperatures globally at 23 degrees on average will no longer work causing an ice age or heatstroke

well its 2013 and theres still many bluefin tuna in M.A U.S.A so this video is wrong. Also if the ocean dies, we don't die. Many people don't touch nor use anything ocean related.

As a sushi eater, I would be devastated if the Blue Fin Tuna will be extinct. Unfortunately, I can't stop eating sushi, it's too good. O.o

To jump to a conclusion that all Blue Fin tuna will be gone by 2012 is a bit far fetched. We are now in 2012 yet they still exist, although admittedly in far fewer numbers. To then imply that losing the Blue Fin tuna will result in the death of our oceans, and ultimately us is a totally wild and ridiculous statement to make. Whilst I totally agree with raising the issue of over fishing to the public, fear mongering such as this and using ill-researched statistics is not the way forward.
