  • I got to know Beethoven in my late teens, sonatas, concertos, symphonies and especially string quartets. All amazing. But I still really treasure Piano Trio Op 1 No 3 C minor, which I bought on 78's in about 1958. This is a young composer, working hard to attract a following in different musical communities, respecting the past, but at the same time knowing exactly where he intended to go. A truly wonderful piece. I have gone through the recordings on the internet. The Daniel Trio is exceptional
