N+1 est une installation vidéo performative impliquant de nombreux participants. Le dispositif est une scène mobile cubique dont le sol en damier rappelle le dispositif perspectif de la peinture renaissante. Au fond, une toile de rétro vidéo projection est tendue afin de pouvoir projeter des séquences successives des évènements du dispositif. A la contrainte d'espace vient s'associer une contrainte de temps. L'évènement performatif fait 2' ou 3'. Cette fugacité permet d'opérer des cycles légers qui dynamisent l'action filmée et procurent au public du tournage une expérience inattendue d'un tournage dynamique et animé. L'installation vidéo conçue comme une boîte d'observation, ou un accélérateur de particules permet de mettre en scène des performances successives dont chacune est le fond de la suivante, mise en abîme, disparition des couches précédentes, brouillages des temps, la toute dernière, qui est la somme compilée de tous les temps qui la constitue. N+1 est autant une vidéo qu'une installation, elle est aussi le spectacle de sa réalisation. Performative, elle associe les participants qui à chaque cycle renouvellent la scène.


Elle aura lieu à Issy-les-Moulineaux, dans le transept
de la Espace St Sauveur de l'Hôpital Corentin Celton,
le samedi 22 Mai 2010, de 10:00 à 21:00

Season #4 of N+1 went off successfully, the participants were fantastic and we saw beautiful worlds.

We invite you to take part in the new session of N+1 called « N+1 # saison printemps 2010 » (Spring 2010 Season).

N+1 is a performative video installation involving a great number of participants. The set consists of a mobile cubic stage, with a checkered floor that reminds of the perspective device of Renaissance painting. At the back, a video overhead projection cloth has been stretched in order to receive the screening of the successive sequences of events. In addition to the space constraint there is a time-related condition. Each performative event lasts for 2 or 3 minutes. This fleetingness allows to carry out light cycles that stimulate the action that is being filmed and provides the shooting's spectators with an unexpected experience of a dynamic and lively shooting. The video installation has been designed as an observation box or a particle accelerator, and presents successive performances, each performance being the background for the following one. A story in a story, a film inside a film. Previous layers disappear, time is blurred, the very last video is the sum of all the previous scenes that eventually make it up. N+1 is as much a video as an installation; it is also the spectacle of its own realization. It is performative and brings in participants who renew the scene on the occasion of each cycle.

It will take place in Issy-les-Moulineaux (1 metro station from Paris), in the transept of espace St Sauveur (St Saviour's Hall) in the Corentin Celton Hospital, on Saturday, the 22th of May, 2010, from 10.00 AM to 9.00 PM.
