President Richard Nixon defends his decision to use American forces against the North Vietnamese in Cambodia. Cambodia was an agreed-upon neutral state but the North Vietnamese forces violated the agreement and threatened the security of American forces and the people of South Vietnam. President Nixon upholds his pledge to bring forces home but emphasizes the need for American intervention in Cambodia.

war is war, but you're right on one thing the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong had no right to be in Laos or Cambodia to begin with

The North Vietnamese & Viet Cong were in blantant violation of Cambodia's nutrality & were using Cambodia as a staging area to launch raids into South Vietnam. They killed many South Vietnamese & American troops. Was there a better idea to deal w/ those ruthless Communist bastards?

Nixon was a lying, Murderous Bastard who secretly ordered mass bombings of Cambodia, eventually dropping more bombs indiscriminately over that country than were ever dropped over any country during the second world war. Cambodia was entirely innocent of anything but the secret bombings and thousands of innocent Cambodian lives lost eventually created complete turmoil in Cambodia and gave rise to the Kmer rouge and pol pots genicidal regime. The rest is history and this is fact! Shame on America!

Nixon, although unpopular, was very intelligent in how to deal and convince the general public.
