  • peterfairy, you obviously have no clue about American drag racing. NOS was not used in any of the cars in this footage. If you are talking about Nitromethane , this was the fuel for the the Funny Car and Top Fuel divisions only. You must be one of those "drifting" fags, I'd bet. Go back to your little "tuner" cars and leave the Detroit Iron to people who appreciate and understand what American Drag Racing is all about.

  • ahh, mopar dominance:)

  • @moparXdarren yess! Back when MOPAR actually ment something!

  • @2oldcoots it's a sin that these days will never again exsist. if you missed it because of your age it's hard to explain just how good it was back then for drag racing

  • Ahhhh the BIG three...GM #1..Ford #2..Chrysler #3..there's a reason they're in that order, and NOBODY can CHANGE THAT!!!!!!!!

  • my dad was at this race, NHRA needs to bring back super stock racing

  • class racing was the best!

  • those were the days , pro stock,,- t shirt and helmet and 4 speed

  • wish i was there, would off been a blast back then.

  • I love the classic drags. Seeing pure hell is always great. Only problem is, they are consistancy racing. The first time I went consistancy racing I learned I didn`t like it. about 40 of us lost to the same kid in grandma`s station wagon who wins every week with a 22 second et, he`s got a block of wood under the gas pedal. There`s no fun in consistancey racing. The more mods the harder it is to run consistant. Street style is real racing. Same time launch, who gets there first.

  • Wow, that was beyond cool. Thanks for putting these up on youtube. The only exposure I've ever had to 60's and 70's drags came from car mags from yard sales, so to actually see Mr.Fourspeed in action just blew me away. Watching those steel bodies buck as the gears are banging is a rare sight in an automatic world. Give yourself a pat on the back from an almost 40 year old who is feeling about 16 again!
