awesome horn!

We took the Zephyr to Chicago then hopped on the Cardinal to Baltimore. It was a round trip in first class bedrooms. I've uploaded vids if you want to take a look. Thanks for a great video!

nice, but poor passengers, not knowing railroads they must have thought "what the hell is going on?!"

Amtrak is not stupid!!!!!

Hey Eddy check out the Amtrak Michigan video I just uploaded. 'Amtrash' my eye.
95 MPH now and 110 by the end of the year.
Oh, but I know it's not the good old days of the Penn Central and SP trying to ruin the experience for customers so they could get rid of the trains!
The good old days were not so good Eddy baby!

This clip is even more special to me now; especially since the new horns of choice for the major roads seem to be the K3LLa and K5LLa. (in my opinon---YUCK!). CSX iscurrently replacing many of it's older Leslie RS5T-RR0s and Nathns with the newer horns. Still, the K5LA is a sweet sounding, melodic horn. If there was a "hall of fame" for locomotive horns the old cast Nathan M5, original Nathan K5LA, and the Leslie S4T should be the first inductees.

How many horns did you have there?!?

That was quite simply amazing. Kinda spooky too with the echos. I love trains.

Poor Viewliner passengers and diners

I still enjoy this vid clip! Ed, thanks so much for sharing your hobby and making many of us knowledgeable horn and whistle fans as well! On the model railroading side a good number of us have been downloading and editing horn sounds from some of yours or your friends' clean, noise free recordings for uploading into DCC sound decoders. Challenge, still, is finding clean P01235 and SL4T horn clips.
Hey! welcome to Amtrash! Poor excuse for what used to be American Railroading's passenger trains!
