Pentax Canada was good enough to let us spend an afternoon with their brand new Pentax Q camera system. The Camera Store's Chris Niccolls took a look at the images and video this camera could produce and we looked at the lens lineup for this quirky little camera.

  • help me pick Pentax Q or Olympus EPL-2 thanks

  • @MyStormVideos EPL-2 will give you better image quality, but the Pentax is smaller.

  • Great review. Where can I buy this beauty?

  • @flordesnor Canadians can buy it from us: (check our website ) For other countries we recommend checking with Pentax or your local retailer.. or for shipping from Hong Kong try - digital rev

  • A little pricy, does it record sounds for Video Chris?

  • @TheNatureguy01 It has stereo sound. No mic input though.

  • How well does this camera play with C-mount and CS-mount lenses?

On E-mount and μ4/3 cameras, the vignetting is so severe that they border unusable with some very rare exceptions, so I'm thinking the smaller sensor size on the Pentax Q would actually make this camera perfect for using vintage cine lenses.

  • thanks for getting bk to me

  • Looks fun, I could find about zero toy filters on the nikon one J1 :(

  • Hi there!

Did you have any issues with Shutter lag and write speeds?

    Thanks

  • @MyStormVideos

Its uniqueness is very attractive. Together with portability. Stunning piece of kit.

  • this is an interesting VDO.

  • You're shooting the high ISO in bright daylight... of course it's going to be decent. Facepalm.

  • I'm a Pentax user already, 135 format and APS-C DSLR. I want the Q.
