Being obese and morbidly obese is costing healthcare money!!!!! Airlines are even charging more for fat and obese people. Don't even bitch or complain about the price. Don't like the price or business, leave and go somewhere else.

I own a nail salon. Every pedicure chair has a maximum weight limit. It is in the manual. My pedicure chair can hold a person up to 300lbs. My brother and I would get a scale and weigh anyone who look fat and morbidly obese. Then again, it cost 2300-3500 to fix, replace, or ship a new chair. We had refuse a few customers who were morbidly obese. one lady weighs 385lbs, 400lbs, and some weight at leasst 480lbs. How in the hell can you get that fat?

Fat people require more work. Their feet are heavy and more callused. There is also a risk that fat people would break the pedicure chair which are expensive, not like chairs at a restaurant which you can easily replace. I have a $4000 pedicure chair and a fat person broke the foot rest which cannot be fixed. Granted, they should have told her the extra charge when they rang her up and worded it differently but I don't see all of the fuss unless the people complaining stand in the owner's shoes.

Also, one more thing...although charging obese people extra for things such as breaking a chair, or having to pay extra for plane/train/bus is politically touchy and incorrect i believe it is completely fair.If a skinny person somehow takes up more room or breaks something they would have to pay, why not fatties? Im not saying people have to look the same, be skinny, or be models! But if someone is morbidly huge, they gotta deal w/ paying extra. They made themselves fat n gross, now deal with it.

I bet the owners of the nail salons are some kind of asains!! Most are, and i can totally see them doing that to someone. They always try to get you to buy extra shit when your there, they dont let up about it even when you say you only have enough $ for what you came for. Also, charging $5 just for the 'risk' of breaking the chair is insane. Only a plow for more money. They should sign agreement that if they break it, they buy it. But if they are chargin $5 already its ludacris. No hidden fees!

@ekocentric wow, your dumb. That makes no sense, considering they were talking about the spa massage chairs in the first place, and who says they would charge her 10 to pull up a couple chairs? Where the hell are you getting the numbers from? LOL just making up random shit in your head obviously i guess. hahahaha

wooooooooooooowwww soo funny lmfao but wrong smh ...
I do not agree with the person who said being overweight is a choice!! My sister is over weight because of a thyroid disorder!!! She did not choose it, she has struggled for years. If you are going to someone extra for whatevdr reason POST IT!!! That takes away any confusion.

In the UK, it's illegal to sell a product to someone who has not asked for the product. Given that the overweight lady didn't ask for a $5 surcharge it should have been made absolutely clear to her that she would be charged a $5 surcharge for being a fatty. Then she could have made an informed choice as to whether or not she thought she was buying a fair service. It would be illegal in the UK to that without making it clear to the customer what the price and surcharge would be before hand.
