Well, let me tell ya, this scared the hell of us at work. I'm just glad that I thought to set up my phone to record the sky for long lengths of time to get this. This video does not do the closeness of it justice, though...

  • Whats sick about this is, once the main charge is gone, look how long it takes the lightning bolt to fade away. I count about 3 seconds, or right before the clap of thunder. That's cool. Great vid. Cheers from the northern burbs of Detroit, Michigan USA

  • @booimscared Thanks. I've never seen such a straight line of lightning. This scared the hell out of us. The vid doesn't do justice to how close it was. The Rite Aid that you see is about 400 yards away.

  • Is that a Wawa gas station? Where exactly is this? I currently reside in Chester County, PA, just west of Philly. I imagine this must be somewhere in the midAtlantic region.

  • Sriaght line bolts are very rare. Most bolts are crooked and have branches. That must've been one heck of an electrical connection.

  • is that lowes?

  • Nice dude.
