Daniel Craig Confirmed for Dragon Tattoo and Sequels
Daniel Craig will star in David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, based on Stieg Larsson's crime thriller trilogy, "The Millennium Series."
The deal includes two sequels based on The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest.
Adapted by Steve Zaillian, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and describes the mystery surrounding the long-unsolved disappearance of an heiress. Journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig), recently dinged by a libel case, and young female hacker Lisbeth Salander try to resolve it, stirring up bundles of personal and industrial corruption along the way. The role of Salander has not been cast yet.

Director Niels Arden Oplev's Swedish adaptation of the book has earned an impressive $101.7 million worldwide.
The follow-up, The Girl Who Played with Fire is doing very well.
The third installment, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest, has not been released here yet.

I like the choice of Daniel Craig, but there is no need to remake the entire trilogy.

@warphalak So generally the American audience chooses to watch English language films, there are of course the exceptions BUT 99% of successful films in America are in english, its just the case. So there definitely is a tendency to remake successful foreign language franchises, so its no surprise to me that this franchise is being turned into an english based film. The fact that Fincher is directing gives me hope, thanks for commenting and watching, Tyrone.

@Vicemusic7 thanks for the comment, personally I think the cast looks great, but hear your opinion. As for the reading off the computer screen, its kind of been my style for all my shows that you will see here on this channel. I haven't been told its distracting but will take note of what you say. I am trying to cover all the movie news out there on a daily basis so have to have reference points but will try do less of the reading, thanks for the advice, Tyrone
