  • Your right about the iron just make sure after you use the iron you do a very good sand job over the part you used to pop the wood out, cause you will have Iron mark that only shows up AFTER you stain the wood. Your movie was very meticulous and you did a good job. I wrote this cause I want people to read it and know you did it the right way. Good Job, keep posting more

  • I worked at a wood shop for years doing furniture repair, and anything else with wood. You actually did a very good job explaining. I used General Finishes myself (Both stain and finish) I love gel/oil based stains just cause when you work solo they are alot easier to use, the bad thing about water stains is when you stain your wood and are not quick enough at it (Since its water based and dry SO fast), you will have a overlap on the stain that is VERY distict.

  • You are the Bob Ross of guns!

  • Thanks for this series of videos. The gun show around where I live is coming up soon and I was hoping to find a nice little project rifle and this will help out a lot. Thanks again.

  • I use my fingers and rub it in like spitpolishing boots...

  • Hi and thanks for the videos. I am just re-staining the stock on my 1980's Mk1 Sharp Innova pneumatic which had been hidiously mutilated by a previous owner. Your video has been a great help. I was not sure of the process for the application of the stain. Good to see your old timer. Regards from across the pond in the UK.

  • Excellent series of stock repair/refinishing videos. I was just searching for a vid on stock repair because I got a very small scratch/gouge on the walnut stock of a new rifle and really enjoyed these vids. Keep up the good work, excellent job I also enjoyed the story behind the project.

  • Great stuff. Your other video convinced me to buy a SKS, and now this video series convinced me to refinish it.

Request though... have one of your family members beat the crap out of the barrel and receiver of one of your guns, and then make a vid. series on re-blueing

  • Great group of How to Videos you got going man , thanks for sharing.
