In this video, I continue the WWDC 2008 roundup and discuss a new service provided by Apple called MobileMe. MobileMe serves to replace the .Mac service offered by Apple today for $99 year. The benefit of this service is that it serves to provided enterprise level synchronization to the ordinary consumer. You'll be able to synchronize email, calendar, and contacts seamlessly and wirelessly with your iPhone, Mac, and over the web. MobileMe comes with a paultry 20GB storage, which seems to be extremely low considering you are storing files on iDisk and photos within the gallery section. In my opinion, MobileMe's synchronization features are killer, but the storage options kind of kill the value almost instantly for me. Let's hope they improve this portion of the service.

  • I have thpught about this storage thing...you're right, that there should be more space for 99$ per year, but if you think about 20 gig. 20 gig for Photos, Contacts and Mail. With only these things it's hard to reach that amount, for me, that is. I think, if you could post videos on there, then it would be tough to stay in the frame So it could be just right for me, but I won't purchase it.

PS: Is that a Bleach Poster behind you?

Where do you watch it? Online or did you download Episodes?

  • You're forgetting about iDisk. Yes I watch Bleach, I get them from Dattebayo although I'm behind.

  • why gators?

  • Dude if 20 gigs isn't enough for u than u need to get a new life. U never goin to go through that. Trust me

  • BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU !!!!!!!

I don't have a cell any longer, no joke!

The FBI and in my country the Bundesnachrichten Dienst and the BKA observe your geoposition. This is the most dangerously technical function of the last years, and opened a new world of glassy bourgeois!

  • I heard its good for making web sites and posting quicktime videos.

  • I got it for 70 bucks

  • The big problem with mobileme is.....it doesnt work. I've used .macs old email system for a couple of years and it worked fine. Now I have no emails. All gone. The lot.

  • Imo, 20 GB is enough for 90% of the users. Or do you want to backup your hdd online?

  • The thing I like is..if I forgot a word document I had at home, and I got to work (or school) and needed it, I could go online and get it..

  • i mean technology is not that far. if there was going be 100GB iphone, hte iPhone would be too thick! i am really pissed though, that they dont make a memory are, you buy a memory card and it dosnt matter how thick it is, and you add it. atleast 8gb axtra and you would get 32 GB if you vought a 16GB iphone!
