This is a rough-cut video taken during some of the weekend flight testing.

This flight test was designed to measure brake energy and spoiler effectiveness for the carbon brake and short field package combination. For fun, a 25knot crosswind was added.

This test demonstrates very clearly how effective the HUD is for flying turbulent and/or crosswind approaches. Notice that turning onto the final approach course, the pilot only needs to place the velocity vector on the touchdown zone, and keep it approximately 3 degrees below the horizon in order to fly a perfect approach with ease!

You can slo see how easy it is to maintain proper airspeed using the information displayed on the HUD... In a word, simplicity!

  • Does it support normal throttle commands like using the keyboard, because I don't have a throttle command on my joystick and I had issues with the Airbus X from Aerosoft!

  • @Loudyest You can use your keyboard for throttles, yes.

  • Looks fantastic, but will you be able to stow the HUD in the release? Hope so...

  • @sixxteenbits You can stow the hud, or you can choose not to have it installed at all.

  • Awesome landing!!!!!!!!

  • What the?!! wow, how do you make it so smooth? my 737ngx is killin my fps. but i still can fly it. i hope you release a patch or something.

  • WOW!!!!!!! i mean PMDG is like total awesomeness when it comes to virtual planes i mean damn

  • I watched a half hour overview of this thing on another site but it was all on the ground. the detail is remarkable. Do we have any information on frame rates and optimal hardware to run this piece of kit? And info on frame rates? If their past gear is anything to go by, it should run pretty smooth. As for this video,.....it is truly remarkable. They could charge 100 dollars for it...I'm still buying it.

  • @PMDG737NG Ok, thank you! I hope we will soon be able to get this beauty! It's by far the best FSX aircraft!

  • Really awesome!

  • Thumbs up if you prefer the standard glass instruments over the HUD! :)

  • Thumbs up if you prefer the HDD (head-down display) instruments better! :)
