  • if you have to sell your labour power to an employer or must earn a wage to live, then you are working class.

the only war worth fighting is the class war. we must unite to save the world from the bourgeois warmongers and fascism is the enemy of workers. the fascists seek to destroy the workers movements, trade unions and parties of labour, socialism etc.

workers of all lands - unite

  • Look at this man, a veteran Socialist and a fighter for of the XV Brigade, it;s people like Bob with his campaigns that made society equal today.

Hail Bob, I could criticize you (Frank Ryan for one) but on the whole you're one of us, a damn good socialist and a trail blazer.

    No Pasaran.

    Max.

  • Who is the interviewer? Bob Doyle mentions meeting Séan Murray. Does anyone have any more information on him?

  • @mepjohnson Hey man would like to know do you have the link for the t shirt would much appricate it thanks.

  • Much thanks for posting this. We don't hear much about the International Brigades in North America but they fought the good fight. They're political leaders failed them and left Spain in the hands of the hardliners for decades. We need more men like Bob Doyle, Hemingway, and the rest from all over who knew the difference between right and wrong. And, of course, had the guts to do something about it all on their own.

  • No Pasaran!

  • @myguitarbuzz Read the book and got the T-shirt (they are obtainable here philosophyfootball.coml) My personal favourite is the Atlee Division one (which is also my grandad's unit). I wear that one with pride, also, I have checked out the websites. I'm not having a dig at him. He was true to his beliefs, the IRA support was one a bad trait, however, we can all get criticised in our lives by others and his 'good' overwhelmingly outweighed his 'bad' - Bob is a legend.

  • @mepjohnson this man was a true to his beleifs

    right or wrong

even at the age of 80 he was still fighting suffering from cancer.

he wanted and fought for a monument to the spanish civil war. helped me in the miners strike. sticking my neck our here but against cannibus yes he had drugs but the man was suffering. it helped him not skunk. thats the difference

great historian more works are in the war museum in london.

  • you can all yawn this was a man who suffered and fought all his life. i knew him .

this is a man who was a hero. protected the weak and still painted his warning or tags on bridges in his 80 is

  • @ryko26 They went over totally disorganised. Saw very little action and the action they did see was disastrous. There was a story of a band of them attacking and killing some of a group from the Canary Islands that turned out to be Franco supporters fighting on the same side...

There's a book I read recently called 'The Blueshirts'. Can't remember who wrote it. Some Fine Gaeler. But even he stated that their time in Spain was less than glorious

  • @Fiach2008 really? Do tell more
