Those are called flares. They are countermeasures for heat-seeking missiles. It confuses the missile guidance systems so that the missile goes for those, instead of tracing the exhaust of the helicopter (in theory).

Its an AH-1Z Super Cobra. Viper is another name. Or else it wouldn't be dubbed the Zulu Cobra.

this is a super cobra. it has two rotor blades. The ah-1z viper has an upgraded 4-blade rotor system. also, the ah-1z's aft exhaust vents are shaped differently
