  • I just posted this in my blog. I'm going through various versions of the Tailypo story. I would love to ask you about it for the blog, if you wish.

  • @radiosweetheart9 absolutely, I'd be happy to answer any questions.

  • Where did this supposevely happen?

  • @WeGoNeBaLlHaRd2212 that's an interesting question to answer, as with any work of fiction it depends on who's telling the story. the version of Tailypo that I knew of originated as an old folk tale told around Southeastern United States, but there are different variations of the story, one titled Big Toe which you can find in the Scary Stories Treasury by Alvin Schwartz. There's an earlier version of the story called The Golden Arm. Mark Twain used to tell this story in his public readings.

  • I remember being in Kindergarten and the teacher read this to us and it was the very first ghost/monster story i had ever heard. it gave me nightmares and i had trouble sleeping for days. I haven't heard of or read it since then. I'm now 21, and watching this story after all that time... man, that was an incredible experience.

Very well-done stop motion. Creepily stylized. Awesome video!

  • u miss out on him saying tailypo where is my tailypo

  • @regan110209 i agreed

  • @XTWIntensity Let us not get sidetracked here. We are not saying that not what it looks like or believing or not that the creature is real. I'm just saying that the description of the creature varies on the person who tells it. There really isn't one default version of it.

  • @hasaniwalker Thats very true and all. But i respectfully argue because i have someone who saw what fit the exact description of a tailypo. 5 am in july 2010 in tennessee, my aunt's boyfriend was in the creek because of the crazy mourning humidity and heat. And he saw on the edge a black creature ithe the head of a dog and the head of a rabbit. i have an eyewitness. thats why i seem so sure about its appearence.

  • @XTWIntensity that is how it's described in some stories, but there definitely are many. While making the film I found versions with a black creature, a white creature, an unseen creature. In many stories the tail isn't taken like in the story "Big Toe" another variation you can find in the scary stories treasury book. the earliest version I found was called the Golden arm which was frequently told by Mark Twain, but there are other versions that predate that.

  • @seekertosecrets what do you mean? thats how it's described. A dark creature with a K9 body and head of a hare.

  • @XTWIntensity That's just one variation of the tale. Depending on the storyteller, it always changes.

  • @hasaniwalker oh yeah! i loved that story!!!

  • @konnii1 A somewhat demonic black Creature with the body of a dog and the head of a rabbit

  • Oh thank god... It wasn't as scary as I thought It would be. I was expecting him to wake up with the creature like right in front of his face...

  • what kind of animal was it
