Chris Kilham has one of the most unusual academic titles in the world: "Explorer in Residence" at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. He's an ethnobotanist, which means he studies the relationship between people in plants. Chris travels to remote places like the Amazon rainforest or the island of Vanuatu in the South Pacific to bring the benefits of medicinal plants into mainstream American life.

  • if the native people of the jungle can be taught to spread their medicine, they can both save the rain forrest and make income to protect the forrest from industries.
