good luck trying to use this in a camper van

I connect my laptop and desktop all the time during a brownout here in the Philippines. Works just great.

Actually they are not.. thing about it. The microphone is 2 inches from the engine. These are generally much quieter than the 4 stroke models especially under load.

I had the diodes blow on mine twice with no abuse to unit. when I replaced the diodes the first time I replaced the circuit breaker with fast acting fuses rated to match the continuous watt rating, and the diodes still went out on me a second time a few years later...

way too noisy

Mine can run a 975 watt coffee maker

@kuernodechivo It did run the hot plates to cook eggs. It also ran the both a radiator and IR style space heaters. By the time the breaker would get ready to pop the heaters Resistance was up and current back down.

I love mine. I bought mine to drive a car home that had lost the alternator. Hooked up the 12V side to the battery on the car and drove home with the trunk open and the gennie running in the trunk.I tested against the deep-freeze and brought it from thaw to solid freeze let it run a nearly a full tank for about 5 hours.
It couldn't run my big tube ham amp.
The engines on these things are built like a tank; they often well outlast the generator head itself. They have a dual-ring piston, cast-iron cylinder, a double-balanced crank, ball-bearing mains and CDI ignition.

@douro20 I'm extremely happy with the two I have. One probably has a good 50 hours on it now, and it runs just dandy. I did have a problem with one of the units. It was running really lean, hard to start, sometimes stalled... I just removed the high speed screw on the carb, and replaced it with a short bolt. Now it runs really rich and starts in 1-2 pulls every time.

I found one of these at a flea market, the only difference is that it's white and is only 780W. But I'm pleased with it.

@MrMoterKid Theyre usually all the same thing. Some say 800W, 850, 900, 1000 is the highest I see them go... They all only REALLY put out about 800ish, so 780 is just more realistic.

omg.. when you pushed the cold-button after running on the high setting, it jumped all the way up to 170V .. ouch.. bye bye to all electronics hooked up to that "generator"..

@Knaeckebrotsaege Thats what happens when most non-inverter generators go from overloaded to no load... And id never run any major electronics off this anyways, its puts out really crude power with poor regulation, like almost all generators. This is not a concern. The unit usually runs power tools, lights, etc... Very durable devices. However, I did run a iPhone charger off it for a while... And it still works just dandy.
