One thing we all have in common is that we all love dancing, and we tend to meet in W. L.A. every week for a 5 Rhythms boogie that is trance dance meets spiritual awakening. On this Sunday, I was amazed by the appearance of several large wreaths, still in their wrapping, out by the dumpster. I realized that they were probably a once-in-a-lifetime prop (unlike the bumpers, which show up every other week), and that we had to shoot. That became the video Wreath Wraiths Writhe, and the footage from that same play that did not include the wreaths became this video.
I learn from making each videos, and one of the lessons here was: if you give balls and sticks to the guys, they will use them to recreate the ball and stick games they already know. Which is totally fine, but there is no dispute that there is amazing footage on youtube of guys hitting balls with sticks, and we won't possibly come close to that.
What we can do, is come up with our own sport. And that's what this video focuses on: how the same couple of props can be used in infinite variety together, to create something that is specific to the time, the place, the props, and the people.
Lulz I love the song. I wish you had the rennie pilgrim emix of it.
