We have less than $1500 total in the car at this point. The video clips of it running are on manifolds only! The y pipe and rest of the exhaust are going on in the next day or so.

EDIT: Hedman headers went on the car today!

  • hey peteflob i have a 1988 305 5 speed v8 it is a tbi how did you convert it from tbi to a 4 barrell edelbrock is it hard to do please i would like to know nice car thanks and i have one more question alot of people say 600cfm can fit and work but how come they say use 500cfm for a 305

  • @1hotmaro Nice! I wish mine was a 5 speed. The conversion is really really simple. The only difference between a chevy small block built for TBI and one built for a carb are the 4 center bolt holes that hold the intake to the heads. I just used a drill and ovaled the 4 center holes out on the intake and it fit right on. Takes 5 minutes to do!

  • @PeteFlob As for the carb, a stock 305 with its smaller bore can't take advantage of the flow a 600cfm carb offers... Mine ran fine, but the 350 I threw in this car last month runs better!

  • Hey, Pete,

Congrats on this project -- pretty neat!
