Mud (as Dum) - In The Mood

Mud were a British band who got together in the 60s but are best remembered for their single "Tiger Feet" which was the UK's best-selling single of 1974. They joined Mickie Mosts RAK record label and teamed up with writers/producers Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman, with whom they had a successful run of hits - including 3 number ones. The group comprised: lead vocalist Les Gray, lead guitarist Rob Davis, bass guitarist Ray Stiles, and drummer Dave Mount. In the same year that Tiger Feet was released, the band brought out an instrumental single using the name of Dum (Mud spelt backwards of course). This was a rocky version of Glenn Millers In The Mood and it failed to get into the British charts at all. Here is the single version on RAK179.

@scat1a Sadly, Dave Mount (the drummer) and Les Gray (the singer) are no longer with us, but I have fond memories of them both - I was lucky enough to know them all quite well.

This was also a track on the album "Mud Rock" from 1974, complete with party noises from "The Gatecrashers."
