  • Really great stuff ! But I don't know anything about C++. Would it be possible to find a source code like this one on the internet ??

  • @yepepet No, not for the entire thing. I wrote the code for it my self. I had a burglary a few months ago though and they stole my laptop along with my backup. I didn't have the code backed up online. I didn't need to write that much code though.

I used openFrameworks, if you don't have any previous coding skills you may find it easier to write in processing.

Look it up. Its a language aimed at beginners.

  • @PhilipClevberger Thanks ;) How long did it take to make the program ?

  • @yepepet Dificult to say exactly, I was working on it on and off during 6 weeks time. But that also included coming up with the box etc (initially it was meant to be controlled with a white board). Also learning OpenFrameworks.

If I knew what I know now. It would probably not take longer than a day or so. If even that.

  • philip, this is really nice man!

can you please sent me something to find out exactly how this is done?

i have a cardbox, plastic and a webcam and i definately can use something wierd like this in my live shows.. would be great iff you could help me..

  • @daydreamproducties Unfortunatly they stole my laptop and all the source code along with it in a burglary a few weeks ago.

  • @mibarilochetube A webcam is placed inside the box. It detects when something is placed on the lid. Can be any object. And sends midi data accordingly.

Programmed in C++ (openFrameworks) hooked up via MAX MSP to convert it to MIDI

  • @ABCofKnowledge Thanks, I hope I get my new shoe string budget midi controller up there soon.

  • A few days ago, I saw a video with a project similar to yours. But this project is the best I've ever seen. Congratulations! Now I'll try to make my own.

  • man what is that? it's amazing, how does it work? please tell me
