Television show featuring Shunkaen Bonsai Museum in Tokyo, home of Kunio Kobayashi. I apprenticed here for over four years and I am featured here speaking in terrible Japanese. Also featured is top Italian artist Sandro Segneri and American Matt Ouwinga. In 2 parts

  • these are fantastic trees. Shame theres a lack of superb trees in the UK. I write a website called bonsai art where the trees pale in comparison to these Japanese trees!

  • Once you get ready to put the Juniper in a bonsai pot, you can prune the roots. I wouldn't suggest doing it until then. If you go to Books-A-Million, you can find some helpful books to teach you how to prune and the right time to do so. As far as yamadori, yeah, it's best not to go getting trees off of other folks' property. But you can find lots of acceptable trees just growing in random places. Just remember, this stuff takes a looooooong time.

  • Thank you!!
