A 1942 Gerber toilet from the upstairs bathroom of my uncle's home in Louisville, Kentucky. I thought that it was a Standard, but was surprisingly mistaken. Unfortuneately, I was unable to find a model number, or identify the model. The lid was also incorrect.

  • that one has a nice deep sound to it sounds like a "mans" toilet

is that a old eljer tank top?????

  • @force311999; I agree. I have never heard a toilet sound quite like this one. I'm not sure if it's an Eljer lid or if it's a 1970's Gerber lid. I think both have a similar shape.

  • That toilet looks to be in very nice shape! Who made the bathtub? I really like the lines on it and the toilet. Have you ever run across any of the OLD Standard toilets from the 1920's with the cast iron tank and lid mounted on the wall, with the chrome ell running from it to the back of the bowl? I just salvaged two from a house built around 1920. One has the cast iron tank, the other is ceramic. They BROKE the ceramic tank trying to remove it from the wall. The bowls are identical.

  • I think the bathtub was made by American Standard. I couldn't find any identifying marks on it, but also the sink was a "Standard". I believe at one time, the bathroom downstairs had a high tank toilet in it. I've found evidence of tank mounting brackets, but nothing else. But unfortuneately, it has been replaced with a manfield #125. This house was built in 1927, and all of the other plumbing fixtures appear to be origional to the house.

  • What Was That Humming Sound? nice toilet!

  • That was the fluorescent lighting on the medicine cabinet above the sink.

  • @Landaux ummm i think it was bush senior who passed the act of 1992. it took effect in 1994 though

  • This is the oldest toilet that works in the world.

  • Nice, I think my 1946 American Standard Siacto can beat this though. :o
