@basszero1 Guy Fawkes is seen as an iconic image. He represents freedom from our governments. Look at the movie "V for Vendetta", look up "Ocuppy Wall Street" and look up "Anonymous group" they are all examples of how Guy Fawkes is used as an image of freedom and will always be celebrated as a symbol of anti-curruption etc etc. Today some people celebrate this... others just have fireword night as a fun tredition... so what? fireworks are fun... \m/
@basszero1 I don't think you understand what Guy Fawkes night is about. We celebrate the fact that he DIDN'T blow up the houses of parliament. It was one of the first acts of large scale terrorism (im sure there were many others before) but it didn't suceed. We celebrate the fact that this horrible act was stopped, instead of blowing up people, we can enjoy the fireworks. Yes the burning of the guy is a bit morbid, but 406 have past. Please get your facts right before you call my country stupid
this is why britan is stupid for a good reason. celebrate a dead man the NEARLY blew up a building? and the way they celebrate is burn what ever thier using a guy fawks? well thats soooooo civilised. dumb brits, other countrys dont celebrate things like this. colombia had a dude name pablo escobar and he was responible for more than 600,000 deaths and he was shot and killed, colombia didnt make that a holiday.
