Since the success of the film 'Finding Nemo', demand for tropical fish has soared. But the seas of the Pacific are literally being emptied to feed this frenzy.

Tropical fish are now virtually worth their weight in gold. "Everybody wants one because of this Nemo film," explains SRS Manager Larry Dacles. His company has a monopoly on tropical fishing in Vanuato, home to some of most popular tropical fish in the world. Former workers claim it got this monopoly by bribing government officials. In just three years, SRS has alienated local tourism operators, who depend on the tropical fish as an attraction, scientists, fear an ecological disaster in the making, and the traditional owners of the reefs. "They take anything and everything," complains one local. "It's out of control." Already there has been a 50% fall in tropical fish from the reefs. Now, it's not so much a case of finding Nemo as saving him.

  • what ever i love the ocean and the hobbie! so kiss my grits!

  • respect this is a intresting movie i´ve got two Clownfish last month its realy not easy to hold the fish

  • 5:06 that tank is straped on low!

  • i would really like to help or do something like that marine bio guy who shows finding nemo to the village kids. so cool but the things srs are doing is over the top, such liars, the can only deny or give excuses. those poor souls stuck in plastic bags trying to stay alive, it really sucks

  • @wmd44110 The problem is that relatively very few marine fish can be bred in captivity.

  • These fish should be born and raised in captivity. It may be more expensive, but atleast it would stop divers from raping the reefs and it may scare off inexperienced aquarists from taking one home only to kill it.

  • Dark side of the Rainbow & Alice on the wall are wonderful & well, I thought to my self those syncs are great and i thought about the movies in general. Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland merged as 1 movie would make none other then the movie Little Nemo so I decided to give it a go with syncing for my self on my pc so I watched and well it was so good , I had to upload it.Check the sync I speak of give it a look.

Search dark side of nemo or click my name for preview thanks

  • ... im shocked.
