If you hear his stuff from the 70's to 80's to 90's, you'll see that he had to work on being what he is today , probably the best guitar player ever.

I've had the opportunity of seeing Eric in concert twice, and he is amazing. Last time I saw him on a tour with Satriani, small concert, maybe 500 ish people. It was incredible! He played Manhattan and after 8 years of playing guitar, I still cant understand how he plays so clean.

I was fortunate enough to see Eric in a smaller facility from about 15 feet away playing acoustic & the piano; just incredible. Non-musician friends who went to the show were simply blown away and couldnt understand while he wasnt more well known. I was always a huge fan of Vai, Satch, Yngwie, Petrruci and while all of the aforementioned players are great none of them have this side to their musicianship IMO. He is truly a one-of a kind player
