Meanwhile, the Golden Triangle of Laos, Myanmar and Thailand appear to be building an increasingly lucrative trade in methamphetamines.

With Thailand's government launching a new campaign 'to free the country from drugs', 101 East asks if Thailand can ever win the war against the drug barons.

@Kinglonger... there is no agency that can make any type of drug eradication program work. It simply doesan't work.

Can't the governments see that if the drug war could be won, they would of done it already. The only thing that has changed since the drug war started is there are more drugs are available.

UN agency is worthless for drug eradication program. UN staffs ride fansy cars, stay in luxury hotels, waste money which should go to poor farmers.

Thailand and China are responsible for allowing people for producing chemincal products which used in heroin production. Burma has no capacity to produce those advance chemical elements. It is unfair to blame Burma alone.

Governments never progress from info exchange stage, should do more practical, help needy farmers, develop basic infrastructures.

Why care so much about these scum they don't care about other Thai people why should we care about them??? Do you think they are Thai, no they not. They did not even speak Thai most of them illegally relocate themselve to Thailand. What we need to do is to built camp for them then train them to do something and don't let them go back to the Thai national forest. If they don't agree may be because of these people just want to do nothing just work one a years then the rest smoke it!!!
