"Just look at the way she drives—all confused and overwhelmed and driving into potholes. What a useless and stupid woman!" - adweek.com

I do not own this ad, it's 50 years old, I'm claiming fair use.

  • LOL Ads today are ten times more sexist, it's just that people don't notice because it's so omnipresent (and has to do with women being whores rather than the previous stereotype of them being stupid)

Sexism today is like much racism- it's the subtle sexism of lowered expectations.

But whatever. Drink your Kool-Aid, people..

  • I can't believe she made it..

  • -_-

  • @planetery Many Ads today portray men as being foolish and naive. But you don't hear them bitching about it. 50 yrs ago, women probably didn't bitch about this commercial either. Times change. Racism and Sexism will always be. Subtle or not.

  • How true

  • This commercial is sexist but not compared to the mountain dew commercial... And another is that women are actually better at driving then men and that this was like in the 1960s or somethin

  • A failed backdoor pilot for the intense drama: The Woman Driver.

  • I am pretty sure I am going to get hammered for this, but I MISS being treated like a prize.

  • Im sexist and i find this offended!

  • @zavaroudikos dont you love how women park by feel....always hitting and scraping into the curbs....why is that??

  • Its really not sexist, I've seen far worse and in this decade. This is merely target marketing to the prominent decision maker of the day (the 70.s). The male purchasing tires for his car. What Man/Husband./Father, wouldn't want his wife to have a safe tire??? People use to get married then, have a family....not like today with single parents and high divorce rates and low marriage rates.
