Hell yeah, it scared me! I thought Leatherface was outside my bedroom window that night! All of these new horror remakes are failing miserably though!

The second Texas Chainsaw Massacre didn't suck and it received awesome critic reviews and it was directed by Tobe Hooper who also directed the 1974 original. The 2003 remake failed to impress critics and also failed at the box office! Why new directors see the need to remake horror films that already did their job years ago is a wonder. And yes, the fourth is an actual movie.

Scary movies today hae a hard time out doing reality of the news. School shooting, crime sprees, wars, random acts of violence etc. It's hard to scare todays teens at the movies. But go back 25 yrs and beyond and scary movies ecliped reality in sickness.

When i saw it on the 80's. It still had that scare factor. But todays scary movies don't hold a candle to the old school movies. Yeah' a kid today will see thz old ones and say it blows, lmao, it sucks, etc. Why? Because what they see in the movies is stuff we see in the news every day. But Jaws, texas chainsaw, psycho, etc. years ago was unheard of stuff.

I agree! Does the movie or motion picture business REALLY or HONESTLY feel they're doing us a favor by doing a re-make? In my opinion, modern special effects and high tech gadgets/conviences take away or "reduce" the ACTUAL "horror" that's in the original.

I was 6 years old when my aunt took me to see this in 1974. I'm sorry, but the crap ass 2003 remake will never come close to be as terrifying as the 1974 original.

I agree! Did the cast and crew REALLY feel they were doing (the rest of) us a favor by doing a re-make? Your aunt took you to see Texas Chainsaw Massacre when you were 6? In my opinion, what a great aunt! Did you get scared when you watched it?
