VirtFS is a virtualization aware file system pass-through for KVM environment. It enables file systems from the host to be efficiently and securely shared with a KVM guest. Support for VirtFS is available in SLES 11 SP2 as well as community distributions like Fedora and Ubuntu. VirtFS support has been added to upstream Linux kernel, QEMU and Virt-manager. This video demonstrates VirtFS export being configured through Virt-manager GUI, booting up the guest and and then mounting VirtFS in the guest.
