Thank you for sharing your story. My Mother was just diagnosed and although it seems scary, it is a blessing to finally know what is wrong. Watching your story has shed some light on the subject for the two of us. Thank you!!!!!

@blueydblondie06 I was just wondering if anyone else has had so many complications after their surgeries as well? Its to the point where I get botox, epidurals, cervical facet injections and am on constant medication and I don't get any relief.. I need help!

Hello, I'm a 23 y/o nursing student. My decompression was June 2006. After 14 surgeries My dx is "severe chronic head pain". I have a great pain doctor but my life still isn't normal. Constant throbbing headache, blurred/ 2x vision w/ sudden stabbing pain are my worst symptoms. It is extremely hard and most days it takes everything to get out of bed. I use to think I was the only one experiencing this. I'm glad there are others to talk to, but I wish I could take everyones pain.. Hang in there!!

Hi I'm 13 and I actually had this surgery done in Sep. And this is exactly what I was wondering because it's been 4 months since my surgery and I've been getting constant headaches although there not as bad as they were b4 but I was just wondering if they would stop soon

I had neurodecompression surgery a few months ago to correct Chiari. I have had a few headaches since the surgery, but they are not like the headaches before the surgery. I also feel tightness in the front of my head.

My daughter, who is 13, had this decompression surgery done on Dec. 11, 2009. May I ask if you still had headaches after your surgery? If so, for how long? She is having headaches, although she says they are different from the initial pains before surgery. We do have an appointment for a post-op visit. Would just like more feedback from other Chiari patients.
