The late 1800's C.H. Brown steam engine underwent a complete restoration over the past 2 years at CAMA in Kent, CT. This video documents the first time running under steam in close to 70 years. CAMA, the CT Antique Machinery Association is a museum dedicated to the preservation, restoration and operation of antique machinery from our rich industrial past. CAMA is located in Kent, CT.

  • Very nice engine and a fine restoration. It is good to see it running. I hope to come and see this engine. I also am restoring a Brown with a 15 inch bore and 12 foot flywheel in Mentor, Ohio. Thanks for posting, Jeff Klein

  • Thanks, I'd be interested in seeing photos of your Brown restoration project. You can email me at the CT Antique Machinery Association website. There is another C.H. Brown engine in Eastern CT (Norwich). It is an impressive twin cylinder, twin 24 foot flywheel that is in a old mill since converted into condos.
