Blam, I could feel the bitch-slap from here and I'm just a witness to the big slice of victory that you just cut for yourself.

Amazing song!

I completely agree with you! It was so wrong of that person to do that especially when the interpretation was not baseless. I swear, some people truly know how to make an ass of themselves...
-
However you interpret the song, I don't really get the point of being a dick to someone else based on their interpretation... it's pretty damn pathetic... honestly both interpretations make sense to me... because that's all they are. Interpretations.

On the way to the gotye concert, I got lost walking through portland trying to find the building he was performing in. Because I got lost, I just happened to pass Kimbra wandering the streets of Portland. I got to talk to her for a couple of minutes and get a picture with her. She is such a lovely, and nice woman. I respect her more than any other female artist.

Or the more obvious interpretation: that many young women expect that they can "tame" and "change" a man who isn't really interested in them. (Leading to unhappiness on both ends.)
A related phenomenon to the princess-bride syndrome, where young girls are led to believe that they will one day become a princess and live in a castle (with their over-extravagant weddings being the christening ceremony for such a life).
Or you could stick with your tired, baseless, woman-victim narrative.
