Close, Kimbra has done an interview on this song. She claims that it is more about the idea of marriage itself. That it is a bad thing to get roped into and that your independence is more important. Also, the idea of children playing the wife/mistress is to illustrate how young girls are 'indoctrinated' with the idea of marriage.
