A change of pace. A great Spring song. She is incredibly talented. I've been meaning to do a cover of this song for a while. If you haven't heard of her, then just go buy her album. If you like this song, you'll love them all. She has a new one coming out very soon and I cannot wait.

If I'm not mistaken, the drumming in this song is by Brian Teasley of the Polyphonic Spree. I love his style. Tasty, simple, and very complimentary to the music. And the drum parts are odd. Not typical. I love that too.

Drum cover notes:
-16" hi hats. =)

-As you can see, this is not the most difficult song to play on drums. But that's why I love it. It's always more about the music to me than the drums.

-At the end of the song, you may notice that when the guitars get going mashy crazy, that they get really loud. Well, it kind of overpowers the drums. I didn't know of any way of fixing just the volume of that part so that my drums would stick out more there, so they just kind of get drowned out a little. But you get the idea right? =)

  • You've singlehandedly restored my faith in YouTube. Your clips and musical drumming should be a required viewing instead of all the weckl mullet math rock crap on here. .....please forgive my cynicism... got carried away. Great job!

  • That's an incredibly powerful compliment. Thank you very much.

I agree with you. It's easy to get carried away with frustration about that kind of drumming. Though there's a time and a place in my heart every now and then for that stuff, it's not with my favorite music.

  • Really nice - As a drummer and a St. Vincent fan I'm particularly impressed. How about a cover of The Apocalypse Song?

  • Thanks very much! Apocalypse Song is awesome but there's not a lot of different things happening with the drums. It might be kind of boring. =) But Paris is Burning might be a good one. Thank you again!

  • Hmm actually not Fall of Troy. Lol, we just listened to the songs and the guitar and screaming is way too loud. We are quite content with the songs we are hearing from you. =]. Thank you. Keep making those awesome covers please. I enjoy learning of new bands through your covers. You should check out of the band Mute Math. I enjoy them.

  • Ok. Sounds good. Now check out my Mute Math cover. =) I already have one up.
