@jearley2424 Weaver won championship later against John Tate. But your right, quick stoppage. he was off balance and always came back in his fights. Old referees always mess up, except Arthur Mercante. Don Dunphy was a great announcer, but he was wrong about that fight needing to be stopped.

Bullshit stoppage. Same thing happened in the first Dokes stoppage.

I love Larry very underrated but they stopped the fight a few punches to early... Mike weaver had been champion also so you got to win the world title not been given it... but hey

Some say Larrys jab was better then Ali larry set everything up with his jab and unlike ali his jab actually had good power behind it

Not fair to Tyson he beat some good fighters in his prime: Tucker, Biggs, Berbick, Tubbs Spinks, Ruddoc twice and Larry Holmes. You cants just dismiss these as bums. And even if Larry was over the hill, he showed in his comeback later that he still had it and Tyson was the only one to KO him.
In fact I dont see Larrys opponents being any better than Tyson..I'd some of them were directly awful, like Snipes and David Bey.

When Tyson stepped up to the top 5 as you stated, he was in prison prior to facing them remember? Buster Douglas was in great shape and I saw that Mike didn't look like he was in shape. i looked at his abs and his back muscles and I said "oh no, this doesn't look good" and he got his butt handed to him. Lennox Lewis looked in bad shape in his first fight with Rahman. Lewis was one of those guys who got better with time. Tyson eroded quickly in 1988, but no one can deny his power.
