He is a political consultant; to expect him to be anything but circumspect is unrealistic. He has no axe to grind, and has no reason to expect the process will not work. He is not so much a sell out as he is someone who knows the limits of what can be done in that corrupt environment. It is more likely he just has other fish to fry.
