Christum wir sollen loben schon (sing along)

One of our oldest Christmas carols. For sing along / Zum Mitsingen.

The melody is dorian (d). It ends seemingly (!) on e (phrygian). This last tone leads to the first note, the d, of the next verse. So will be created an endless circle, like the circuit of the sun. (Remember: Christmas was the festival of the winter solstice in ancient times.)

Sehr interessant, Martin, was du da gemacht hast. Schön auch die Darstellung wie auf altem Pergamentpapier. Ich hatte trotzdem Schwierigkeiten, einfach so mitzusingen.

Die Textaufteilung ist gewöhnungsbedürftig. Nur die erste Strophe hatte ich original, ein paar hier von der einzigen Aufnahme auf YouTube, de, den Rest mußte ich rekonstruieren. Da das so aus dem Kopf kaum ging, mußte ich sozusagen diese Notenfassung hier erstellen. Meine Harmonisierung soll das Behalten der dorischen Melodie erleichtern.
