With this feature documentary, Alanis Obomsawin pays tribute to Dr. Norman Cornett, a popular Religious Studies professor dismissed by McGill University in 2007.
Addressing subjects as varied as palliative care and First Nations issues, Cornett won the respect of students with his unconventional approach. Among the many participants in his classroom debates were former Canadian prime minister Paul Martin, jazzman Oliver Jones and actor Ethan Hawk.
I saw the movie at McGill. Not very objective and tries to get to people's emotions too much. I support his teaching method, but his evaluation methods failed to meet academia standards. I feel he knew what was coming to him. Disappointed.

i had a teacher who taught social constructionism, she was very much like this prof, open and diverse from other teaching methods. Every class truly felt like a adventure, you actually became close to the rest of the students. When it ended this year, some students (3rd and 4th years) were crying because it was a woonderful dream that was ending. It's a pity not more classes are taught in this fashion, it really teaches you to think outside of the box,

It is just a pity that he was supposed to be teaching maths and so all of his students failed.
