The Detroit Tigers held a homerun contest and Brandon Inge cleared the left field scoreboard at Comerica Park (aluminum bat). I doubt he could even reach the scoreboard with a wooden bat. None of those HS players would be able to top 450 with a wooden bat. I doubt they would be getting near 420. I bet Mantle would be blasting balls close to 700 feet with an aluminum bat if not further. Hell, I hit one 485 with a $300 aluminum bat. That same hit with a wooden bat wouldn't have made it 400 feet.
